10 Points to understand the Microsoft Ecosystem

1. Turning away from the application
The diagram shows it: The complexity of a modern IT system exceeds the capabilities and capacities of your own IT. In addition, the systems are characterized by high personal dependencies. Modern companies worldwide are increasingly opting for "the professional and a professional environment" in order to ensure the best performance for their company. The concept gives a hint; a true cost/performance comparison is in favor of the cloud.

2. Azure - What the Microsoft Cloud Platform Does
In order to achieve the highest level of overall functionality and integration, it was necessary to create an interactive and scalable ecosystem from scratch, which also allows hybrid operation. Microsoft AZURE offers numerous services on the platform in almost all countries and languages. Even small businesses can access "IT systems" that previously could only be afforded by the largest companies. Small providers can scale their business ideas enormously fast worldwide.

3. Security
For the layman there is a thesis: A professional system, which is secured by any number of backups in any place of the world and by professional methods, is many times more secure than any self-installed and self-maintained OnPremise-IT.

4. Seamless integration
Let's think of the users. The "usability" of a homogeneous system, which is available on every device and without access barriers, leads to an unknown acceptance.

5. ERP rethought
The previously known Dynamics AX and CRM systems have now been on this ecosystem for several years and are highly integrated and easily available with maximum availability. The degree of maturity of the solutions is high. The former ERP system "Dynamics NAV" is primarily aimed at small companies and has been available on the platform as "Business Central" since autumn 2018. D365 for Finance and Operations (D 365 FO) is rather a multinational, multifiscal and central system. It is regarded as the tool for ERP projects, which can serve many countries in one instance and also contains many international material and value flow topics as well as industry solutions. Special and industry solutions are now provided as apps by the established partner ecosystem in a worldwide structure and availability on the basis of clear development specifications and in a new technology.

For Sales (formerly CRM) and D365 FO (formerly Dynamics AX), additional solutions have been available on this ecosystem for years. For newcomers, such as Business Central, additional and industry solutions are expected in 2020+ (individual small solutions will certainly also be available in 2019).

6. LinkedIn and Talent - What is it?
In the context of ERP-CRM-HR, the solutions D365 FO - Sales -Talent are now available. The HR module Talent is highly integrated with the business network Linkedin and offers numerous functionalities that were previously unknown in the HR context.

7. Common Data Model and Service - What is behind it?
Interoperability e.g. with OnPremise systems is possible without any problems. This means that you can opt for the cloud and switch successively. Other cloud providers do not offer this performance. Third-party providers and Microsoft partners are also offered a variety of options via the common data concept, which, however, in total help the user companies to achieve a new "quality" and "integration" and "security".

8. Compliance
Numerous compliance declarations can be viewed via the Microsoft Trust Center.  This link  provides public access to the compliance certificates. Especially for the Lifesciences industry you will find here the   industry certificates for GMP and here the official Compliance

9. BI and AI - A New Age
The market for BI systems has been declining drastically for years. Why is this so? Microsoft Power-BI outperforms price-performance comparisons from the point of view of most companies compared to proprietary providers. BI and KI (Artificial Intelligence) gain new dimensions in the context of Big Data in this ecosystem.

10. Office yesterday and today - Collaboration is in the foreground
Many people still think primarily of OnPremise Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint when they hear the term "Microsoft Office". Today, modern systems operate more and more via "teams", which enables a new dimension of collaboration, document handling, telephony, web sessions and telcos in a simple way and on any end device. Daily use in the cloud proves that bandwidth issues are yesterday's problems.
